Sixers: Best and worst of Summer League game against Jazz
The worst Sixers
Grant Riller: 2 PTS | 0 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 3 TO | 0 PF | 0-3 FGs | 0-0 3Ps | 2-2 FTs | 12 MIN
After a great performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, Grant Riller crashed hard against the Jazz. The point guard is known as a spark plug scorer and he couldn’t do it in this outing. The only bright spot is that he did have four assists, but it was followed by three turnovers.
Aminu Mohammed: 0 PTS | 1 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 0 PF | 0-2 FGs | 0-0 3Ps | 0-0 FTs | 9 MIN
The Georgetown product didn’t have the same impact as he had in the first game. Aminu Mohammed still was solid defensively, but his offense has a lot to be desired. It’s clear that Mohammed has potential but it’s becoming clear he needs to develop in the G-League to reach it.
Michael Foster: 5 PTS | 4 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 3 PF | 2-5 FGs | 0-1 3Ps | 1-1 FTs | 11 MIN
This wasn’t a “bad” game by the 19-year-old big man. Michael Foster had solid stats, but he failed to make a significant impact thus him being on this list. If he can just have one breakout game, it seems more than likely that he gets a chance to join the Delaware Blue Coats next season.
Julian Champagnie: 5 PTS | 10 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 4 PF | 2-11 FGs | 0-6 3Ps | 1-4 FTs | 26 MIN
In terms of rebounds, Julian Champagnie had an excellent game. However, shooting so poorly from the floor is going to land the forward on this list. He had the opportunity to shine in this matchup because he drew the start, but he failed to capitalize yet again.
Cassius Winston: 11 PTS | 4 REB | 6 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 6 PF | 2-10 FGs | 0-2 3Ps | 7-8 FTs | 28 MIN
On the surface, Cassius Winston had a solid outing, however, that wasn’t the case. He shot very poorly from the floor and on top of that he fouled out in just 28 minutes of play. If Winston wants any sticking power beyond summer league he needs to show more.
