3 center free agents who could boost depth: DeMarcus Cousins

The Sixers could certainly look to add another former All-Star like they did last season with Drummond, DeAndre Jordan, and Paul Millsap. One former All-Star big man on the market is DeMarcus Cousins.

It’s honestly shocking that Cousins is still on the free agent market, especially after the good season he had with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets. Last year, he averaged 9.0 points and 5.6 rebounds.

It felt like Cousins would have re-signed with the Nuggets, but they instead decided to sign Jordan, who played poorly for the 76ers last year. Cousins isn’t the same dominant force that once made him the best center in the NBA, but the 31-year-old can still be a scoring sparkplug off the bench.

At 6-foot-10 he’s a solid enough defender despite the injury history. The only issue with Cousins is that his fit with James Harden isn’t clean due to his inability to be a rim runner at this point in his career. It should be noted that I had Cousins ranked 15th on my unresticed free agent big board.
