3 center free agents who could boost depth: Montrezl Harrell

Due to legal troubles (per ESPN), Montrezl Harrell is still a free agent. If his legal problems don’t resolved themselves then having him on this list is pointless, but if they do, then he might be worth a look by the Sixers.

These legal issues should help bring Harrell’s free agent price to a range to where Philly can afford him. If it does, then the 76ers could bring in a Sixth Man of the Year award winner during his prime. This would be a win for both Philly and Harrell.

Harrell is arguably the best scoring center still in free agency. I had him ranked 16th on my unrestricted free agent big board. The 6-foot-7 big men is one of the best pick-and-roll big men which is the ideal pairing for Harden.

Last season, Harrell averaged 13.1 points and 6.1 rebounds between the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets. The only issue with the 28-year-old on the court would be defensively in the postseason due to his size. However, it might be worth it if the Sixers can reunite Harrell with the head coach who helped him win Sixth man of the Year in Rivers. This could help revive Harrell’s image and career if he can do well in Philly.

There’s still quality centers in free agency and with only Paul Reed as the only playable backup, the Sixers should consider their options.
