Philadelphia 76ers-fan perspective from Summer League: The game experiences
The first day started off with Atlanta Hawks taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Cox Pavillion. This is one of the games where I caught half of the game. The others were Orlando Magic-Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets-Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs-Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets-Sacramento Kings, and the Miami Heat-Los Angeles Clippers.
When taking the Philadelphia 76ers out of it, it feels like it is so much easier to make a snap negative judgment on players from opposing teams. That’s not being a “Negadelphian” either. I’m not transferring that energy to other teams because I have the itch to do so.
Trending. Harden in a ‘win-now’ mode with Sixers. light
It’s just watching multiple games worth of bad basketball compared to the G-League and obviously the NBA. Watching the last couple of days of Summer League is like research for a homework assignment that isn’t imperative to your grade whatsoever.
That still didn’t matter. Was it a long day from 12 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, July 16? Did the championship on Sunday not have the intensity of a close basketball game? Yea, but it was well worth it.
