Sixers: Ranking each NBA team’s top duo in 2022 offseason
18. Raptors: Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam
The Toronto Raptors gave the Sixers a good matchup in the first round of the playoffs. They’re a deep team which makes choosing a top duo on this roster difficult. Especially considering they have reigning Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes.
Outside of the young rising star, they also have other high-quality starters in Gary Trent Jr. and OG Anunoby. However, after much thought, the dynamic duo entering this season for Toronto is Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam. Both are proven All-Stars which gives them the nod over the other quality players on the roster.
VanVleet went from being an undrafted player who started their career in the G-League to an All-Star last season. He might be short as a point guard, but his stocky frame allows him to be an above-average defender. He’s also one of the better 3-point shooting point guards in the NBA as well.
Siakam had a slow start to the year thanks to injury, but by the end of the year, he was the best player on the roster. Despite being held in check by the Sixers’ Tobias Harris in the postseason, he was still their best player by far.
