On this podcast episode, we discuss the negative news that has been targeted at the Sixers, but we also bring up some positive news surrounding the team. We begin the podcast with the NBA opening a tampering investigation on the Sixers.

The Sixer Sense Podcast: Episode 205

With all of the early free agent speculation and subsequent movement that happened in July, there was bound to be some suspicion at some point. The Philadelphia 76ers are at the center of the drama, and it’s all related to the James Harden contract, where he negotiated a new deal for less money to help the franchise sign other players. We bring up the NBA tampering investigation and discuss its merit.

Then, the podcast dives into who should be the fifth starter. There are several reasons why the nod should go to Matisse Thybulle, and other reasons exist in the case of P.J. Tucker. We analyze those differences, trying to come up with who fits better in the starting lineup.

The next topic revolves around a bonding experience for the Sixers. In the past, Doc Rivers has taken previous teams, the Boston Celtics and L.A. Clippers, on team trips in the off-season. A few weeks ago, he took the Sixers to South Carolina. The podcast discusses how the trip will help build camaraderie and will pay off as the season starts and progresses.

We pivot to another positive topic related to Sixers players who are putting in the work to improve this off-season. The podcast explores the various footage that James Harden and Tyrese Maxey have allowed to be posted on social media, showing them conditioning their bodies and refining their skills on the court.
