76ers Top 5 Most Memorable Plays – (#3) James Harden Assist

TOTH to USA Today for the quote below.

"“Tonight felt like we were in Philly. But that crowd, it’s going to be turned [up] in there and I’m ready for it.” – James Harden"

In late February, James Harden had himself a game like he had in his Houston Days. Although he had yet to play in the Wells Fargo Center since being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, Harden dazzled the crowd in Madison Square Garden on a Sunday afternoon.

In the game, he racked up another triple-double, his first in a Sixers uniform. Meanwhile, Harden and Joel Embiid, went on a tear at the free throw line, attempting 44 shots. Although this slowed the game down a bit, there is one particular play that had to make the top 5 memorable plays list.

After Julius Randle drove the lane, he had it stripped by Harden. The 10-time All-Star retrieved the ball and sped out into a fast break. On his left was Tyrese Maxey, and on his right was Matisse Thybulle. It was the trailer though that would receive a sweet pass from Harden.

RJ Barrett did not stand a chance as the lone defender. Harden surveyed the scene, and with his stellar basketball sense, dropped a behind-the-back pass to Joel Embiid, who jammed the rock with one hand. This play astonished the Madison Square Garden (MSG) fans and amazed 76ers fans at home. That play raised eyebrows and left Philly fans yearning for more.
