3 teams that can bother Embiid: Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves made one of the bigger moves this offseason by acquiring the three-time winner of the Defensive Player of the Year award in Rudy Gobert. The french big man is getting paird with the T-Wolves core of Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Big man Towns has never been known as a defender, but Gobert has had a decent amount of success against Embiid. Embiid has only averaged 23.1 points on 43.7 percent from the field in the seven games he’s played against Gobert.

Gobert now has another big man who can help on double teams moving forward in Towns. If Gobert does get into foul trouble, then Towns can slide down to center and do a better job than anyone else on the roster.

Minnesota also has players like backup center Naz Reid and long wing Jalen McDaniels. Both role players are good defensively and can help double-teaming Embiid as well. Overall, the Timberwolves have enough big bodies and good defenders to make things tough on Embiid.
