Re-drafting the 2014 NBA Draft — 13. Bogdan Bogdanovic
Bogdan Bogdanovic spent a few extra years in Europe before making his NBA debut in 2017 as the highest-paid rookie in league history. Since then, he has excelled in both starting roles and reserve roles. If you were to list the best sixth men in the NBA, you wouldn’t have to go far down the list to reach Bogdanovic. He’s an elite shooter who can handle the rock, create for others off the drive, and operate as the backup point guard in a pinch.
The NBA is a shooter’s league these days. Bogdanovic’s volume and shot versatility behind the 3-point line is going to make him relevant for a long time. He’s not a great defender, nor is he a star talent, but Bogdanovic thrives in his role. He’s another player from the 2014 draft who excels as the third or fourth option within an offense.
Bogdanovic is a prime example of the upside of draft-and-stash players. He spent a few extra years in Europe, where he developed into one of the continent’s most dominant players and gained experience on the biggest stages overseas. Then, he came to America and was an immediate high-level player.
