This episode welcomes back Dhwani Saraiya to talk Sixers on the podcast. Last time we had her on she opened up about her amazing artwork and professional journey. This time around it’s all Sixers talk because the preseason starts tonight, and the regular season is just a few weeks away. We jump right into the Sixers’ first matchup against Brooklyn.
The conversation opens up with expectations of the first preseason game. Usually, preseason games don’t garner much attention, but we all know why this game is circled on a few calendars. One question comes to mind in this game: How will Ben Simmons look against his old team since he last played in the Atlanta series? Whether he plays 10 minutes or 25 minutes, watching Simmons oppose Joel Embiid will be primetime entertainment.
The podcast pivots to some numbers associated with the upcoming season. We present a few categories of over/under predictions. We bring up Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in the scoring category. We offer predictions on how high James Harden’s assist average and Matisse Thybulle’s steals average will reach. We wrap up this section of the podcast with over /under the total number of regular season wins for the Sixers.
The last topic revolves around hypothetical scenarios. We combined Sixers’ seasons and players who played with Joel Embiid. The lineups we create pit some of his most talented teammates against one another. Who would win in this scenario? Joel Embiid, Robert Covington, Danny Green, J.J. Redick, and James Harden versus Joel Embiid, Al Horford, Jimmy Butler, Tyrese Maxey, and Ben Simmons? We debate this matchup and another one for some hypothetical fun.
