The Sixer Sense Podcast is back with another episode packed full of Sixers analysis. After splitting their recent home back-to-back, Philly is 8-8 on the young season. With injuries starting to pile up, there’s plenty of concern cycling through the fanbase. Is it warranted?

Lucas Johnson, Christopher Kline, and Uriah Young start with the loss to Minnesota on Saturday. The Timberwolves were in the driver’s seat for most of the night, but a late Sixers push made things interesting. Joel Embiid’s recent heroics continued, but Philly untimely fell short. What stood out from the game? The group discusses. Also brought up: Minnesota’s roster construction and whether or not the Rudy Gobert trade will pan out.

Then the conversation moves to Friday’s gutsy win over the Milwaukee Bucks. After a brutal loss in the second game of the season, the Sixers rebounded in convincing fashion. Embiid torched the Brook Lopez-led defense from the mid-range while Shake Milton and De’Anthony Melton stepped up in the absence of Tyrese Maxey after halftime.

Are the Sixers’ injuries becoming too much to overcome?

Speaking of which: the Sixers have a lot of injuries to deal with. James Harden has already missed a couple weeks. Now, Tyrese Maxey is slated for his own 3-4 week absence after fracturing a bone in his left foot in the first half against Milwaukee. Tobias Harris has also missed the last two games with hip soreness.

Can the Sixers stay afloat with injuries to three of their “core four”… and how will they do so? Lucas brings up some potential free agent options. Christopher does not agree with them, and instead makes his own pitch for internal promotion.

The trio also discusses the internet’s hottest scandal: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s pushing over of a ladder on Friday. Should we pass judgement on Giannis? And what about Montrezl Harrell, who clearly played instigator in the whole situation. Chris and Lucas are on the same page, but Uriah dissents with his own spicy take.
