De’Aaron Fox has really rounded into form as a legitimate three-level scorer and table-setter for the suddenly elite Kings offense. His ability to obliterate defenses in transition, combined with a much calmer and dynamic halfcourt presence, has Fox on track for his first real chance at All-Stardom.

Jarrett Allen anchors the Cavs’ elite interior defense. He’s nimble in space and absolutely massive, deploying his 7-foot-6 wingspan to great effect. Also an elite finisher and rebounder, Allen is the ultimate “star in his role.”

Will Bradley Beal’s Wizards ever accomplish anything? Nobody knows. But there’s no mistaking the talent: his deadly pull-up shooting, slippery handles, and steady improvement as a creator for others. He has even measurably improved on defense the last couple years.

Still feels like Draymond Green practices the dark arts on defense. There’s no better quarterback of a system: even from the television, Green’s communication skills and timeliness are plain to see. He’s also a brilliant passer who really sets the table for Golden State’s offense. If only he could shoot a little bit.

The Hawks are still figuring it all out, but Dejounte Murray’s committed perimeter defense and surge of secondary playmaking has clearly made Atlanta a better team. His impressive set-up skills can be buried beneath the onslaught of Trae Young ball-handling possessions, but Murray is a poised playmaker and legitimate three-level scorer. His jumper is starting to come around big time.
