Ranking 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey and the top 30 NBA shooting guards
Defense handicaps Seth Curry in the playoffs, but he’s a remarkable complementary talent on the offensive end — a talent the Nets have frankly underutilized at times this season. He’s one of the best movement shooters in the game and a sneaky-good secondary creator who can punish errant closeouts off the dribble.
Derrick White remains one of the game’s best defensive guards. He’s also hitting a healthy dose of 3s, which was always the question mark prior to his trade to Boston. He can get overshadowed by the depth around him, but White plays smart, unselfish basketball and completely wrecks opposing offenses.
De’Anthony Melton has taken the next step with Philadelphia. He’s the ultimate 3-and-D role player. He’s near the top of the league in steals and should be in the All-Defensive team conversation. Offensively, he has become more reliable as a secondary ball-handler and connective playmaker to complement his deep-range shooting.
