Ranking 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey and the top 30 NBA shooting guards
Injuries have started to take their toll on Zach LaVine, who opened the season in concerning form. He has gradually started to look more like himself, still punishing defenders with his pristine jumper and lightning-quick first step attacking the lane. But, it’s fair to be concerned at the front end of a massive five-year extension.
Klay Thompson is finally starting to play like the Klay Thompson of old. He’s probably the second-best shooter we’ve ever seen, and the Warriors’ offense is perfectly attuned to his singular penchant for moving without the ball. Thompson is a quality defender to boot, with one of the best big-stage, crunch-time résumés you’ll find.
Bradley Beal has not been quite himself for the Wizards, who continue to toil away on the edge of play-in contention. He’s still deadly in multiple areas offensively, be it attacking his man in isolation or working off the ball. He’s still poor on the defensive end, though, and the Wizards aren’t likely to surround him with a contender any time soon.
