The Philadelphia 76ers lost a heartbreaker to the Boston Celtics over the weekend, as Joel Embiid’s full-court heave was after the buzzer and did not count to send the game to overtime.

Even with the loss, Philly is still playing well right now, going 7-3 over its last 10 games and opening up a 2.5-game cushion on the No. 3 seed in the East.

The Sixers are back at home on Monday, hosting the struggling Miami Heat who have slipped into the No. 7 spot in the East with four straight losses. The Heat most recently lost to the Charlotte Hornets, one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Miami is dealing with a bunch of injuries right now, listing Tyler Herro and Kyle Lowry as questionable for this matchup and Kevin Love as probable.

The Heat need a win to get back in the conversation for the No. 6 seed, but are they being overvalued based on their play last season?

Here’s how to bet on the Sixers-Heat matchup on Monday:

Heat vs. Sixers odds, spread and total

Heat vs. Sixers prediction and pick

Miami made the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but the Heat have been far from the same team this season.

Injuries haven’t helped, but the Heat rank 24th in the NBA in net rating this season. For comparison, Philly is fifth.

Miami still has an elite defense, but the team’s offense is among the worst in the NBA this season, ranking 26th in offensive rating.

The Sixers are one of the best teams in the NBA against the spread in the 2022-23 campaign, including an impressive record as home favorites, going 17-10-1.

Miami, on the other hand, has been one of the worst teams in the league to bet on, even as road dogs, where it is 6-9 ATS, losing those games by an average margin of 7.2 points per game.

Yes, the Heat are supposed to be a playoff team, but they haven’t played like one all season. Philly is the side to back here, especially if Herro ends up sitting out.
