The podcast is coming to you on the heels of a tough loss to the Boston Celtics on a late Jayson Tatum three-pointer. The Philadelphia 76ers had a 15-point lead in the third quarter and squandered it away in brutal fashion. Lucas Johnson, Christopher Kline, and Jonathan Geib give their perspective on if there are any positives to take away from this loss and what this team can learn from it.
The trio also discusses the first game the Sixers played after the All-Star break against the Western Conference 2nd-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. In contrast to the Celtics game, the Sixers surged back against the Grizzlies and leveraged a dominant fourth quarter to propel them to an all-around team win. Joel Embiid also had a block-of-the-year candidate in this game.
The next topic turns to the recent struggles of Tyrese Maxey. Maxey has been coming off the bench for the majority of the season and for a little it seemed as though he found his groove running the second unit. Over the last month or so though Maxey has had some uncharacteristic poor performances. Is it time for Doc River to insert Maxey back into the starting lineup? Are there other ways for him to get out of this funk?
As this is The Sixer Sense’s 250th podcast episode, Lucas, Chris, and Jonathan decided to have some fun with Sixers trivia. Jonathan asks questions ranging from easy to hard and sees who can answer more between Lucas and Chris. Listeners should pause the podcast after the questions are asked and play along to see how many questions they can get right. You will definitely hear some names you have not heard in a while in relation to the Sixers.
