The Sixer Sense Podcast returns on the heels of back-to-back road wins over the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves. The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Pacers 147-143 in an offensive showcase that the stars showed out for. Joel Embiid scored 42 points and James Harden added 20(!) assists along with 14 points and 9 rebounds. For the Indiana Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton had himself a day scoring 39 points and notching 16 assists. It is also worth noting the Sixers were down two starters as PJ Tucker and Tobias Harris did not play.

In the Timberwolves game, the Philadelphia 76ers handily won 117-94. This one was never really in doubt and Embiid went off again, as expected, for 39 points in only 28 minutes. This has become routine out of the Sixers’ big man, but it needs to be recognized every time because what he is doing on the offensive end this season is remarkable. Maxey added 27 points as Harden took the night off and Tucker and Harris both returned and helped the Sixers get their third straight win.

The conversation shifts to the Sixers’ win streak combined with the Boston Celtics’ losing streak. The Celtics lost three games in a row where they had leads of 14 or more points. They blew a 28-point lead at home to the Brooklyn Nets. They followed that up by blowing a 14-point lead to the Knicks in a double-overtime thriller. Lastly, they lost to the Cavaliers when they held a 15-point lead and Grant Williams had 2 free throws at the end of regulation, only needing to make one, and he missed them both. Do the Sixers have a realistic shot of catching the Celtics and overtaking the second seed in the Eastern Conference?

Lucas, Chris, and Jonathan end the conversation talking about the Sixers’ first-round playoff possibilities. If the season ended today, the Sixers would face the Brooklyn Nets in the first-round series. As mentioned before, the Sixers may move up in the standings, and the Nets, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat are close at the bottom of the playoff seeding. Who do the guys want to see in the first round of the playoffs? Give the podcast a listen to find out.

P.S. There is bonus Oklahoma City Thunder talk spurred by Chris’ newfound fandom. This conversation gets heated among the group.
