The Sixers have lost two straight, their first “losing streak” in a while. In this episode of The Sixer Sense Podcast, that’s where the conversation starts. What went wrong in Golden State and Phoenix, and how concerned should fans be about the Sixers’ late-season slippage?

Naturally, James Harden’s absence comes up. The 33-year-old missed both games with left Achilles soreness and the Sixers’ offensive execution suffered as a result. Plus, we discuss the inherent difficulties of winning on the road — especially on the second night of a back-to-back on the opposite coast.

Joel Embiid’s MVP case is also at stake. He dominated in Golden State, dropping 46 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists on superb efficiency. But he looked much more human in the loss to Phoenix, despite his primary defender being NBA journeyman Bismack Biyombo.

On the flip side, Tyrese Maxey put together a career night in the Suns lost, posting 37 points and seven rebounds. His ability to step up down the stretch could prove critical to the Sixers’ championship aspirations.

Then it’s time to discuss Ben Simmons. The Nets’ guard-forward is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season due to a nerve impingement in his back. What does the future look like for the Sixers’ former No. 1 pick? Will he ever return to All-NBA form?

Will 76ers’ James Harden make an All-NBA team?

Speaking of All-NBA, it’s that time of year — awards season. And, while many Sixers fans will be focused on Joel Embiid’s MVP quest, James Harden is in the mix too. A strong second half of the season has cemented Harden as an All-NBA candidate despite his All-Star snub earlier this season.

Lucas Johnson and Christopher Kline provide their ballots. Does Harden crack third team All-NBA? Does he have an argument to go even higher? Plus, is Joel Embiid a first team lock — and who should join him on the first team if that’s the case?
