76ers: One Joel Embiid trade for every team ranked least to most likely: 20. Indiana Pacers
We’ve now entered the realm of trades that make a tiny bit of sense but would still never happen. Every trade before this one can be almost certainly ruled out.
The Indiana Pacers probably wouldn’t too be interested in a trade for Joel Embiid, but with how great he is, everyone will be making an offer. This would be the best Indiana could do without trading Tyrese Haliburton or Bennedict Mathurin (and maybe they’d be willing to trade the latter of the two).
As a whole, this isn’t a terrible package for the Philadelphia 76ers. Myles Turner and Buddy Hield are two solid players, and at the very least, they could get more draft capital in return for them.
Plus, both Aaron Nesmith and Jalen Smith are two solid enough young pieces. That being said, like many trades before, neither is quite good enough to highlight an Embiid trade package.
The four first-round picks and two pick swaps make this a bit more intriguing, but with how young Haliburton is, the Pacers would likely be competing still when the picks are conveyed.
Indiana would form an elite tandem of Haliburton and Embiid, but there’s no need for them to rush their timeline. They have a solid young core, and trading away all of their draft capital could get in the way of that.
