76ers: One Joel Embiid trade for every team ranked least to most likely: 11. Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic could offer up a ton of young assets to the Philadelphia 76ers in a potential trade for Joel Embiid, but it would involve rushing their rebuild process. But could it pay off for them?
Philadelphia would likely push to get one of (or both) Franz Wanger and Paolo Banchero in a deal, but Orlando shouldn’t budge on either of those two players. They would want to pair Embiid with them, not trade them.
But even so, the package Philadelphia could get would be decent. Wendell Carter Jr. is a solid young center, and Jonathan Isaac could be a nice piece (if he ever gets healthy).
However, Jalen Suggs and Cole Anthony would be the stars in this trade. Suggs was a top-five pick just a couple of seasons ago, so he could grow alongside Tyrese Maxey. Meanwhile, Anthony could turn into an elite sixth man in Philadelphia.
Plus, the 76ers could hope that Orlando’s picks have some value by the time they convey. Who knows how long Embiid will be playing?
For the Magic, this would be their chance to jump forward, pairing Wagner and Banchero with Embiid, with guys like Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris leading their backcourt.
It’s unlikely because the Magic probably don’t want to rush things and the 76ers can get better offers, but it’s not a terrible offer, considering some of the others.
