76ers: One Joel Embiid trade for every team ranked least to most likely: 10 Utah Jazz
This would be an extremely weird fit. Picturing Joel Embiid in a Utah Jazz jersey (especially the new ones) just seems wrong. But it’s not the worst trade idea.
The Philadelphia 76ers could get a massive draft-pick haul from the Jazz, and it’s important to note the value of the picks. Most, or at least some of them could come from the Minnesota Timberwolves. And considering how the Rudy Gobert-Karl-Anthony Towns pairing looked, those could be valuable.
Walker Kessler looked like a potential Defensive Player of the Year during his rookie season. He’d be a great get for the 76ers, but the rest of the players aren’t too interesting.
Collin Sexton is a nice young piece, but his fit next to Tyrese Maxey would be rough. Jordan Clarkson and Kelly Olynyk are win-now depth pieces who the 76ers would probably flip. The picks would be the main reason Philadelphia would even look at this trade.
Utah would push some chips on the table in this one in hopes of pairing Lauri Markkanen with an elite player. It doesn’t make a ton of sense, but of all the teams who could make a big offer, the Jazz have a great pool of assets.
Embiid probably wouldn’t love the idea of playing in Utah, and the 76ers could probably get a better offer, so this deal isn’t too likely. But it’s more probable than most others.
