76ers: One Joel Embiid trade for every team ranked least to most likely: 6. Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are built to compete. They have the perfect secondary star in Mikal Bridges and great role players in Cameron Johnson, Royce O’Neale, and Joe Harris. They just need a star.

The Philadelphia 76ers could give them that, and the return they’d get would be pretty solid. Not only would they get solid pieces and young players, but the draft picks are decent, too.

Nicolas Claxton looked like a future Defensive Player of the Year last season and would be a great young center to pair with Tyrese Maxey. Cam Thomas showed some serious potential last year, too, and could thrive in a larger role where he has more freedom.

Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith are win-now pieces, but the 76rs could flip them and get more assets in return.

The picks Brooklyn could offer would be great because not they’re not all their own. Instead, they could offer up a combination of their picks and the Phoenix Suns’ picks.

If either of the two teams falls off by the late 2020s, which seems highly likely, then those picks could be valuable. That might be worth the risk for Philadelphia, especially considering how many Brooklyn could offer.

If Joel Embiid were to become available, the Nets would have to get involved. Pairing him with that core and whatever other assets they could sign could be a recipe for success.

It’s not the most likely of all the trades, but considering Brooklyn would almost definitely be interested and how solid their offer is, it lands toward the top of this list.
