76ers: One Joel Embiid trade for every team ranked least to most likely: 2. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are ready for championship-level basketball. They just need another star to get them there. Maybe Joel Embiid can be that star.

Of all the trades, this is one of the most realistic. Not only are the Knicks going to be interested in trading for Embiid, but they have one of the better packages to offer.

RJ Barrett has been inconsistent in New York, but sometimes players need a new environment to break out and be the best version of themselves. The Philadelphia 76ers could be that team for Barrett, who still has star potential.

Mitchell Robinson is a quality young center who could step in and probably thrive with a bigger offensive role. The same can be said for Obi Toppin and Miles McBride, who have shown flashes of great potential.

Plus, the Knicks have a ton of picks available to offer the 76ers. They could even throw in more than four picks if the 76ers wanted it, and it might be worth it.

For New York, getting Embiid would propel them into title contention. After their playoff run this year, they’re hungry to make that leap, and a trade like this would help them get there.

They could keep Julius Randle or trade him for a different set of help, but Jalen Brunson and Embiid would make for an elite duo regardless. Plus, they’d still have guys like Immanuel Quickley and Josh Hart as depth.

If Embiid ends up on the trade block, expect the Knicks to be involved. And this deal isn’t bad at all.
