Thus far this offseason, I’ve written a big board of potential free agents who have a team option on their contracts. As a continuation of that type of article, this article will focus on potential free agents with player options on their contracts. Of course, there are a few Philadelphia 76ers players on this list and players who the Sixers should target as well.
It should be noted that most of these players have already made decisions on their options, but they will be included on this list despite that. Players are ranked on their production this past season as well as their potential production moving forward.
22. Danilo Gallonari, PF
It should be noted that the 6-foot-10 forward has already picked up his player option according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Danilo Gallonari missed all of last season due to torn ACL so he should be able to help the Boston Celtics off the bench next season.
21. Rudy Gay, PF
Rudy Gay was once a borderline All-Star, but now the 6-foot-8 veteran is the veteran leader in a young Utah Jazz locker room. At the age of 36, it seems unlikely the veteran would be able to get more than the $6.4 million he’s slated to make on his player option so in all likelihood he’s not going to be an option for the 76ers.
