Philadelphia 76ers: 2023 player option NBA free agent big board
5. Kristaps Porzingis, C/PF
It appears that Wizards big man Kristaps Porzingis will most likely opt into his deal. This is because the 7-foot-3 big man is rumored to be in a trade that would send him to the Boston Celtics, according to Charania. It appears that the Celtics are trying to get bigger to deal with both Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic moving forward.
4. Fred VanVleet, PG
It’s been reported by Wojnarowski that Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet will opt out of his $22.8 million deal for free agency. This is a risky move for the 6-foot-1 guard who had a down season in terms of stats. He could be a free-agent target for the Philadelphia 76ers if they miss out on re-signing James Harden.
“There are only two realistic teams in the running for Harden which are the Sixers and Houston Rockets.”
3. Draymond Green, PF
Four-time NBA champion Draymond Green has also opted out of his deal, according to Kendra Andrews of ESPN. The 6-foot-6 veteran will be looking for one more payday so it will be interesting if the Golden State Warriors can afford to keep their future Hall of Famer.
2. Khris Middleton, SF
It will be interesting if former All-Star Khris Middleton will exercise his player option or not. His future with the Bucks isn’t set in stone, especially after an injury-ridden season last season. The next couple of weeks will be interesting for the 6-foot-7 as his future in the NBA could change dramatically.
1. James Harden, PG
It seems all but certain that Philadelphia 76ers point guard James Harden will opt out of his current deal. There are only two realistic teams in the running for Harden which are the Sixers and Houston Rockets. However, recent reports by Kyle Nuebeck of PhillyVoice make it seem as if Harden coming back the Philly is becoming more than likely which should make most 76ers fans happy.
