Georges Niang – Philadelphia 76ers

Following two solid years with the 76ers, Georges Niang will hit free agency. The 76ers hold his Early Bird rights, and after putting together two of his best seasons, one would think that they want to keep the sharpshooter around for a few more years.

Niang has served as an excellent bench piece during the past two seasons, having averaged a respectable 8.7 points while shooting 40.2 percent from deep on five attempts per contest. That sweet outside shooting has made Niang an excellent fit in Philadelphia, as he’s often gotten his share of open looks on the perimeter courtesy of the team’s top playmakers. He’s not a household name, but Niang is undeniably one of the better second-unit 3-point shooters in the game today.

The forward will likely not be in the market for a considerable raise. Coming off a two-year deal worth just around $7 million, Niang could earn a raise, but nothing too crazy. He’ll have other suitors, but the veterans did say on The Hoop Collective recently that he would love to play under Nick Nurse and loves being with the 76ers, so he likely would prefer to stay in town this off-season. That doesn’t guarantee anything, but it could help negotiations go more smoothly.
