The Sixer Sense Podcast returns for its’ listeners on the heels of an injury to the Philadelphia 76ers frontcourt. Montrezl Harrell suffered a torn ACL and meniscus that will keep him out of the 2023-24 NBA season. The Sixers are flush with centers on this roster, as many Philly fans enjoy pointing out, so how much will this injury affect the team for the upcoming season? Lucas Johnson and Jonathan Geib give their initial reactions to the injury and discuss potential depth chart implications of Harrell’s injury. Does this change who was going to/will be Joel Embiid’s primary backup?

Continuing with the top storyline of the Sixers’ offseason, the guys fire up the James Harden discussion again. Harden has made it clear that he only wants to go to the Los Angeles Clippers, but is that the only possible landing spot for the disgruntled star? Lucas and Jonathan each give three potential teams that could be trading partners with the Sixers for Harden. There are some surprise teams here and you will want to hear some of the stretch teams.

With a future Harden trade looming, it is worth taking a look at the previous trade that landed James in Philadelphia. Getting Ben Simmons out of Philly was the main priority, but is it possible there were better trade offers on the table for the Sixers and Daryl Morey to consider? The hot names that people still consider were Tyrese Haliburton and CJ McCollum, but are there any other players the Sixers could have gotten in a Simmons trade? Did the franchise make the right trade a couple of years ago to bring Harden here?

The podcast ends with the final offseason positional rankings from Lucas; this time it is the centers. The debate will heat up with the top five centers, specifically with numbers 1 and 2. Will reigning MVP, Joel Embiid, top the center’s list? Give it a read in the link below!
