Welcome back to The Sixer Sense Podcast! This week we have a very special guest, Josh Reynolds of That’s Ball Folks joins the show to talk about the Sixers offseason moves as well as predictions for the upcoming season. You will want to give this episode a listen!
First up, Josh talks about his offseason thus far. He made his way out West to watch some Summer League and he talks about which players impressed him the most. Lucas Johnson and Jonathan Geib then turn the conversation to last season and the disappointing Conference Semifinals loss to the Celtics. Was Josh surprised by the team’s underperformance again? Was last year the team’s best chance at bringing home the Larry O’Brien trophy?
The guys then ask Josh about the Sixers’ offseason moves thus far; naturally, James Harden is the biggest headline. Did he see this trade request coming and what were his initial reactions to it? And how will this saga end: with Harden playing for the Sixers or another team come October? You may be surprised at his answer.
Moving on from Harden, the Sixers made several other moves this summer. That includes re-signing Montrezel Harrell, signing Mo Bamba, Patrick Beverly, and Paul Reed, and losing Shake Milton, Jalen McDaniels, and Georges Niang. Going into next season, this roster will have a relatively significant makeover. Which move excites Josh the most and who does he think will have the biggest impact next season?
The podcast closes out with Lucas running through his offseason rankings for the five Sixers starters this upcoming season. Josh and Jonathan debate whether these rankings are right and what they would change. One starter is as high as number two and one is as low as twenty-nine. Can you guess who? Give the podcast a listen below!
