While the starting five taking the court for the Philadelphia 76ers in the season opener keeps getting murkier and murkier with each passing day, there is a beautiful schedule to behold. The NBA officially released the full slate for the 2023-24 season at 3 p.m. ET on August 17th.
The Sixers are starting with a bang, with or without James Harden. The team will travel to Milwaukee on October 26 at 7:30 p.m. for a battle of the bigs when Joel Embiid takes on Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks and Sixers split the season series 2-2 last season. From there, they head north of the border to Toronto on October 28 as new head coach Nick Nurse faces a Raptors’ franchise he guided to the championship in 2019. No Kawhi Leonard this time.
The Sixers don’t greet their hometown fans until October 29 when the team welcomes the Portland Trail Blazers. Will Damian Lillard be there? Without looking too far ahead, mark this one down on the calendar: the Boston Celtics storm into South Philly on November 8 at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last year’s deflating Eastern Conference Semifinals.
