Sixers Podcast: Sixers sign Kelly Oubre + Kevin Hart comments on Harden
The Sixers Sense Podcast returns with some free-agent news. The Philadelphia 76ers are signing Kelly Oubre to a one-year deal with the hopes of adding much-needed wing depth to the roster. Oubre is a proficient scorer and has a lot of upside. What expectations should Sixers fans have for Oubre this upcoming season? And is there any chance he can earn a starting spot by season’s end? Lucas Johnson and Jonathan Geib disagree on this question.
Next up on the podcast, there is more speculation around James Harden and his situation with the Sixers. Kevin Hart was interviewed by John Clark over the weekend at the Philadelphia Eagles game and some in the media were speculating Hart may have some non-public information regarding Harden. Hart said Harden is a “professional” and he expects him to show up and play for the team if he is not traded, but his tone seemed more confident than many in Philly are with the Harden situation. Lucas thinks there is more to this interview than was being said. Do you agree: does Hart know something we do not?
Following the continued Harden drama, Lucas and Jonathan discuss Paul Reed’s role for the Sixers this upcoming season. There continue to be rumors of Reed working hard on his shooting ability, which seems to imply that he hopes to be more versatile for Philly’s roster. If Reed can stretch the floor and knockdown shots consistently, he could very well play alongside Joel Embiid this year. Is it possible Reed will shift to power forward?
The podcast closes out with Giannis Antetokounmpo publically stating he may consider moving on from the Milwaukee Bucks if their goals are not aligned with his. Jonathan is worried this situation may be coming to Philadelphia in the near future. Is this a decisive year for Embiid and the Sixers? Could he ask out if we underperform again? Give the podcast a listen to find out!
