The Sixer Sense Podcast is back as we are just over a month away from real NBA games being played! Can you feel the energy in the air? The Philadelphia 76ers made news this week by signing Kelly Oubre. The explosive wing’s role may be more defined once the James Harden situation is resolved, but until then we should look at the landscape of the rest of the NBA to help determine the Sixers’ potential path to glory.

Lucas Johnson and Jonathan Geib dive into the Eastern and Western Conference teams and predict where each team will land. First up, the guys break out the East teams into four tiers: Favorites, Contenders, Pretenders, and Tanking. The East seems to have a lot of parity in the top and middle of the pack. Are there any surprise dark horse teams that could contend for the Larry O’Brien trophy? After dividing the teams into tiers, they then rank them on projected finishing places 1 through 15. The biggest disagreement comes with the New York teams! Who do you agree with, Lucas or Jonathan?

Switching to the Western Conference, the tiers are broken out and the rankings are finalized. For the 2023-24 season, the West is extremely deep. There are more than a half dozen teams that could realistically make the NBA Finals and that makes the rankings all the more difficult. In the West, Lucas and Jonathan have vastly different predictions for the Dallas Mavericks. One says they will be a contender and one says they will implode! What do you think?
