The 76ers swap All-Star guards in wild B/R trade proposal
Update: Jrue Holiday has been officially traded to the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard.
In this recently proposed trade from Bleacher Report, the Philadelphia 76ers make a direct one-on-one swap with the Milwaukee Bucks, sending James Harden to the latter for Jrue Holiday.
Holiday, a two-time All-Star and five-team All-Defensive Team member, only has one guaranteed year left on his contract with the Bucks. Meanwhile, Harden will enter unrestricted free agency next year, and will benefit far more from being traded out of Philly instead of holding out or staying with the team and facing a lot more limited options in the open market.
Both are aging stars, but are still undeniably tremendous contributors in their own right. Holiday is one of the best two-way players in the league famous for his perimeter defense and sneaky scoring ability, while Harden remains one of the most potent scorers today when engaged on top of being arguably the best playmaker in the association.
But let’s cut to the chase — can this deal move the needle for both teams?
