4. Cedi Osman (SG/SF — San Antonio Spurs)
Following a brief but meaningful interstitial, we continue the cycle of European forwards who happen to be on expiring deals with Cedi Osman, who was recently traded to the San Antonio Spurs after a lengthy tenure in Cleveland.
Osman actually touts a very similar play style and demeanor with Batum, but is much younger at 28 — at the thick of his prime. That verisimilitude, however, won’t stop us from reiterating the benefits of having the Turkish wing on the roster.
His shooting can be shaky, but his highs have been much more frequent than his lows in this regard, having canned 37 percent of his triples last season for a Cavaliers team often lacking spacing. But when his shots aren’t falling, his impact doesn’t instantly shrink due to his natural penchant for moving without the ball and refusal to just park himself around the perimeter.
Osman is an intelligent, low-usage forward who can play and defend multiple positions — better yet, he’s someone whom the 76ers can easily poach via trade especially with the Spurs still on an experimental stage with their youth movement around Victor Wembanyama.
