The 76ers trade for a former 2022 first-round pick in this proposal

In this trade proposal from Bleacher Report, the Philadelphia 76ers trade third-year guard Jaden Springer to the Minnesota Timberwolves for seldom-used and sophomore guard Wendell Moore Jr., who was selected 26th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Springer, who has barely seen the court for Philadelphia in his first two years due to G-League duty, has been one of the standout for the 76ers during the preseason where he averaged 10.3 points in just 19.8 minutes per outing over four preseason games. He made the most of the audition, showing a more mature offensive game and fearless, versatile defense.

Meanwhile, Moore Jr. was less successful in the lead-up to the regular season, turning in limited production in meager court time. While touting promise, the Duke product remains on the outside looking in with Minnesota having a lot of backcourt options ahead of him in their normal rotation.

Can this trade move the needle for the 76ers, if at all? A deeper look is warranted.
