Stock skyrocketing: Tyrese Maxey

The 76ers needed Maxey to take a massive step forward if they were going to stay in contention without James Harden, and the 23-year-old has answered the bell in the early going. He is putting up All-Star numbers, proving he can be their lead ball-handler, and leading the race for Most Improved Player of the Year.

Maxey averaged 25.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 0.8 steals in 37.2 minutes per game through six contests. He is running one of the best offenses in the NBA and holding his own defensively. Maxey may never be a lockdown defender, but he just needs to be passable for the Sixers to be dangerous.

Through his first five games, Maxey produced a .280 win shares per 48 minutes and had a 63.7 true shooting percentage. He has been incredible, and the best is still yet to come from the 23-year-old. Maxey is on pace to make his first of many All-Star appearances and could be in All-NBA conversations if he continues to dominate.

The Philadelphia 76ers could make a massive splash before the trade deadline. Will they look to acquire a third star or just talented role players? Daryl Morey has draft picks to move and a desire to compete for a champion. The Sixers are hot right now, but expect the roster to be improved and dangerous when the playoffs begin.
