Not only are the Philadelphia 76ers trying to stack up young talent, but they’re also putting together a strong collection of jerseys for the 2025-26 season. While much of the focus has been on Philadelphia’s black Icon jersey from 1997-09, the team is reportedly releasing another uniform that has been long awaited by many fans since the turn of the decade.

76ers 2025-26 City Edition jersey may have arrived

In collaboration with the Basketball Jersey Archive, ProLine Mockups reported that the 76ers’ City Edition jersey will be recolored to match the version from the 2019-20 campaign. Next season’s design will reportedly feature a navy blue makeup with white text, golden stripes on the sides, and a red and white outline towards the top of the uniform. However, ProLine Mockups noted that its design may not be fully accurate.

In contrast, Philadelphia’s 2019-20 City Edition jersey had a cream color, red and blue text, golden stripes ranging from the sides, and blue and red outlines across the top half of it. Interestingly enough, the design for next season’s City Edition uniform originally surfaced during the summer of 2019, which led many to believe the 76ers would sport them in the 2019-20 campaign. Since then, it seems that Philadelphia tweaked the text from a bold text to more of a sleek, italic look.

Early on, these uniforms have received heavy support from the 76ers’ fan base across social media. While it’s a matter of opinion, this is the third consecutive year where Philadelphia will release one of the better City Edition jerseys in the NBA. Still, Zach Ciavolella of Philly Sports Network detailed that Philadelphia is yet to confirm this jersey as its City Edition for the 2025-26 season.

This doesn't affect the "black jerseys"

Before fans enter a fit of rage, the potential release of these uniforms won’t impact the possibility of the 76ers revitalizing their iconic black jersey from the late 1990s to the late 2000s which are primarily associated with Allen Iverson’s unforgettable tenure in Philadelphia. In partnership with Nike, the NBA has selected five teams to put out a Classic Edition uniform and the 76ers were one of the teams chosen.

This along with many teases throughout the past year all but confirms that the long-awaited throwback jerseys will return to NBA hardwood. These uniforms were first hinted at when the 76ers put together the “Tyrese Maxey Museum” to honor his contributions to the organization. Months later, Philadelphia hinted that the heavily desired uniforms would make a comeback in an email to season-ticket holders. While I can’t promise that the 76ers’ 2025-26 season won’t be chaotic, at least they’ll look clean.
