The Philadelphia 76ers may have their sights on more consequential matters than NBA 2K26. But, the game became available for those who pre-ordered on August 29th and the ratings for each team – including the 76ers – have been revealed. As is often the case, many fans have lots of critiques. So, let’s dig in.

The good

Joel Embiid has debuted as the highest-rated 76ers player in 2K26 as a 92 overall. He played 19 games season and appeared as a husk of the player who won Most Valuable Player in 2023 because of his daunting left knee injury. 2K was more frugal with their ratings this time around, so Embiid remaining decently within the 90s range is encouraging. It’s the perfect rating for him.

Poetically, Quentin Grimes and Jared McCain have come in as 80 overalls. Fans have spent the offseason debating which of these two guards should start, so their being the same overall is accurate in many ways. Since McCain played just 23 games and Grimes found success in non-consequential games, an 80 overall is fair for each of them.

While some people may believe he should be higher, Kelly Oubre is donning a 78 overall, which is a decent representation of his ability. He’s a quality role player who does the little things, but his limited floor vision and subpar efficiency are worth noting. If he were a 79 or 80 overall, it would be better, but a 78 is justified.

Johni Broome is the lowest-rated non-two-way player on the 76ers at 70 overall. Considering he was selected in the second round, 70 is a solid foundation for him to grow from.

The bad

Tyrese Maxey – an 86 overall –  is coming off a 2024-25 campaign where he dealt with much adversity. He struggled to leverage scoring and playmaking, but remained a dynamic shot-making combo guard, which makes his overall feel harsh. Maxey was Philadelphia’s best player last season and is among the Eastern Conference’s finest back-court players.

Paul George declined to an 81 overall, which is still the third-highest on the team. His production nosedived, especially as an offensive engine. It remains to be seen whether George can string together a bounce-back season, but an 81 is slightly shocking. It’s safe to assume his rating will increase.

Andre Drummond (76 overall) and Kyle Lowry (75) have come in higher than Justin Edwards (75 overall) and Adem Bona (74 overall). Yes, Edwards and Bona shone the brightest during Philadelphia’s downward spiral. However, Drummond and Lowry were unplayable in some matchups and didn’t produce what was required from two mainstays in the rotation.

Trendon Watford is a 73 overall, buy your stock.
