Against all odds, the 76ers staged and ultimately pulled off a massive comeback victory against the Cavaliers in their home opener. In fact, Philly turned in the kind of win that even LeBron James had never experienced in his 24-year career. Apparently, the team rallying from being down by as much as 29 points is the biggest comeback victory for the King in his longtime run in the league.

As pointed out by Keerthika Uthayakumar in this post, the 76ers' 29-point comeback victory is the largest come-from-behind win of LeBron's career. Cleveland started off pretty hot in the first half, entering the halftime break with a 69-45 advantage. The hosts looked pretty hapless on both ends, as if slumbering, but suddenly went on a furious rally in the second half en route to their second win of the season.

The 76ers just completed the largest comeback win LeBron has ever seen

After going down by as much as 29 points to Cleveland, the Philadelphia crowd ended up having to boo their home team. Fortunately, that became some sort of a wake-up call to the 76ers as they pulled off a complete 180 on the Cavs, outscoring them 69 to 37 in the second half.

The fact that this is the largest comeback victory of James' illustrious career is actually quite a shocker. After all, LeBron has led numerous mind-boggling comebacks since stepping foot in the league, both in the regular season and in the playoffs, so much so that the word "comeback" could probably be associated with him in the context of the NBA.

It is great to see the 76ers reel in two victories against the Eastern Conference Finalists from last season in the Knicks and now, the Cavaliers. Heck, both of those wins had Philly rallying from behind, which goes to show how resilient and pesky they are even against elite competition.

Be that as it may, the team has to have more urgency at the start of games. Coming from behind can be pretty grueling when it accumulates, and the 76ers do not exactly have the kind of personnel that can handle constantly being in a war of attrition.

Still, the 76ers do deserve some grace, given that their revamped core is still feeling each other out. The important thing is they were able to win both of their opening games against the two mightiest teams in the conference last season, even giving LeBron James another historic nugget in the process.
