The Alabama standout fills a pressing need for the 76ers with his three-level scoring. That is precisely why Nick Nurse will enjoy having him around in the lineup at his disposal, especially since the team often had to overexert both Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe last season.
With someone established like Maxey on the roster, Philon will have some important veteran guidance to help bring him aboard. Without a doubt, his upside is high, and with the right push, he can make his non-lottery placement look like a giant steal. Heck, that is already the consensus belief with this selection.
