The Philadelphia 76ers just registered one of their most impressive wins all season long, racking up their third straight win at the expense of the Knicks, who are widely considered as legitimate championship contenders this season. Having said that, the team actually tallied a much bigger dub than the one they grabbed in the Big Apple with their most recent announcement.

Shortly before the game, Nick Nurse shed light on the latest with the 76ers with respect to their injured players, stating that both Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford are getting close to making their respective returns, but the elephant in the room is what he said afterwards — that the 76ers are no longer imposing any “real” minutes restrictions as of the moment.

This is most definitely a much welcome development for the 76ers. After all, aside from the fact that the coaching staff can basically deploy their weapons to their full capacity moving forward, it only means that the players are that close to getting back to peak playing capacity in the aftermath of their respective injuries.

The 76ers make a huge announcement that changes everything for them this season

Now touting a 19-14 record, the 76ers are actually only three games away from the second seed in the West, which is currently occupied by the Knicks — a team they have already beaten twice this season. As long as their health permits, they should be in the running for homecourt advantage in the playoffs with the season slowly flirting with its halfway mark.

Getting that rhythm with all of their key players on the court will be critical to their success not only in the regular season as they jockey for higher seeding, but also for the postseason. After all, the 76ers indisputably have one of the most talented rosters in the league. It is only a matter of keeping things consistent for them to be branded as bona fide title contenders.

Once they get Oubre and Watford back, Nurse and the coaching staff will finally be able to have a look at what this roster is truly capable of — something that has been elusive for them due to players going in and out of the lineup due to injuries and being subject to minutes restrictions when they are in uniform.

With this announcement and another huge statement win, fans can only hope that these become the turning points for the 76ers this season, They have been sort of middling so far, but at their very best, they can string together a barrage of wins and finally turn a lot of heads .
