Three core members of the new-look Philadelphia 76ers hit the gym this offseason and started working on their championship push for the upcoming 2026-2027 NBA season.
Former Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown linked with the recent Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, and the homegrown two-time All-Star, Tyrese Maxey. NBA fans got a quick glimpse of what the group looks like sharing the court together, but there were multiple sessions that went down, according to Brown.
How Brown's teammates look after putting in work
The sessions were about the obvious: building chemistry. Brown recently hopped on his livestream to address the workout that had NBA fans talking about what could be from Philly this upcoming season.
Brown didn't dish out too many details about the workouts, but he dropped some key quotes regarding his new teammates. He had one word to describe Maxey: Dog.
Since joining the Sixers in 2020, Maxey has established himself as one of the hardest workers the 76ers' organization has seen. Working out with notable players such as LeBron James and Rajon Rondo in the offseason, Maxey found out what it takes to work like some of the best hoopers in the game. Brown has seen Maxey under the lights plenty of times, but he finally got a look at what Maxey brings to the table when he's sharpening his game. Clearly, it was a positive experience.
When it comes to LeBron James, nothing surprises any NBA player. The veteran superstar has been one of the most notable players of his time and continues to dominate even at 41 years old. Brown noted that he doesn't have to say much regarding LeBron's offseason, but there is a key tidbit that stands out. "He looks good, he looks healthy," Brown told his viewers.
Health is key for the Sixers
Part of LeBron James' ability to consistently stack records is the fact that he's healthy and available more often than not. However, after playing in at least 70 games in two of the past three seasons, James did fail to make it to 65 in 2025-2026.
During the 2025 offseason, LeBron dealt with a sciatica injury, which prevented him from making his season debut on time. Instead of joining the Lakers for the start of their run on October 21, LeBron's debut came on November 18. Fortunately, he only missed scattered games from there on out.
While the Sixers will always worry about the health of their starting center Joel Embiid, all seems well for the other guys in the core group so far.
