76ers trade for Rockets’ Tari Eason in proposed deal
In this trade proposal served up by Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale, the Philadelphia 76ers acquire forwards Tari Eason and Jae’Sean Tate from the Houston Rockets for forward KJ Martin, veteran guard Reggie Jackson, and a 2028 first-rounder from the Clippers.
Eason, who missed almost all of last season due to injury, is a highly valued commodity in Houston. His great blend of size, physicality, and defensive tenacity makes him an appealing get for most teams, especially one like the 76ers which are in dire need of size at the position.
Meanwhile, Jae’Sean Tate has become an afterthought with the Rockets, but he is another solid on-ball stopper.
On the flip side, KJ Martin, who cannot be traded until January 15 next year, is a former fan-favorite in Houston whose play style fits well within their dynamic around Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green. His 76ers stint has been forgettable, though, making him a prime candidate to be moved as soon as his trade restriction is lifted.
How does this trade fare for Philly? Let’s take a deeper dive.
