No team has a more pressing need to make an in-season trade than the Philadelphia 76ers. Owners of a meager 7-6 record, the squad has undeniably been one of the biggest disappointments in the present campaign, couched comfortably among the worst teams in the league in the early going.
Fortunately, the floodgates of the trade market will be open starting on December 15 as players who inked new deals last summer as free agents will now have their trade restrictions lifted. All teams will be looking at a cesspool of intriguing options, and the 76ers are expected to be a major player in the looming player movement bonanza.
However, it is also worth noting that Philly itself could play the role of seller. If so, here are the players on the roster who would be available for plucking when the market unofficially uncurtains.
Every 76ers player eligible to be traded starting on December 15
Paul George
Barring anything supreme, it’s extremely unlikely that the 76ers would even field in George on the table. While he’s gotten off to a slow start himself, his contract is way too fresh to dangle.
Eric Gordon
Expect Philadelphia to be very amenable to ushering in any potential takers for the veteran guard, who has been rather unplayable so far.
Reggie Jackson
It’s also unlikely that the 76ers would be able to trade Jackson, as interest in him is expected to be minimal.
Caleb Martin
One of the biggest flops so far for the 76ers, Martin has not been nearly as solid of a contributor as expected, really, on both ends. And since he is on a very team-friendly contract, he should have some suitors, and Philly could flip him for the right player.
Kelly Oubre Jr.
Similar to Martin, the 76ers would be able to fetch assets for Oubre who, despite an inefficient start to the season, has value as a flamethrower off the bench who can defend when engaged thanks to his length.
Guerschon Yabusele
The 76ers have already ruled out the prospect of trading Yabusele, one of the most pleasant surprises in the NBA this season.
Kyle Lowry
No team is really keen on trading for Lowry at this point in his career. Look for him to be an early buyout candidate.
Andre Drummond
With the 76ers needing depth at center and Joel Embiid anticipated to miss time anew thanks to a sinus fracture, trading Drummond would be a hasty move.
