Four 76ers players who won't last all of 2025 in Philadelphia

These players are unlikely to finish the 2025 calendar year as part of the 76ers.

The Philadelphia 76ers certainly cannot be content with their performance this season. Still firmly situated outside the top ten and the play-in tournament loop in the Eastern Conference, no one can possibly be impressed with this squad at this juncture especially in account of them having one of the most talented bunches in the NBA.

While the team has put out a much more respectable product on the hardwood following their disastrous start, their inconsistencies are once again plaguing them. Since the calendar flipped to 2025 and catching fire to end 2024, the 76ers have tallied just two wins against four losses, a disappointing way to bookend an otherwise impressive mini-resurgence from them in December.

Moving forward, the front office will be forced to make some tough calls with this roster, which is clearly rough on the edges. Whether that may come before the trade deadline or during the next offseason, these four players are unlikely to remain in Philly for all of 2025.

4. Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson was primarily signed by the 76ers for added insurance at the backcourt — a role he has faithfully served this season. While he has enjoyed more exposure on the court due to Jared McCain’s season-ending injury, he is extremely unlikely to return to the team after this season. In fact, he could very well end up being a mere trade throw-in given his expiring contract.

3. Andre Drummond

Drummond was one of the savvier additions to Philly during the offseason, but as a result of overcompensating role-wise due to Joel Embiid’s injury miscues, his effectiveness has waned. The former All-Star center has also become more dispensable this time thanks to the emergence of Guerschon Yabusele, and the litany of more intriguing options next summer could be the beginning of the end for his second stint with the franchise.

2. Eric Gordon

The former Sixth Man of the Year started the season off in pretty horrible fashion, basically becoming unplayable on both ends of the court. His shooting stroke has started to slowly return to normal since then, but given his age and clear decline, it is hard to envision any scenario that has the front office welcoming him back with open arms. He could also be gone as soon as in the upcoming weeks.

1. Kyle Lowry

Despite his status as Nick Nurse’s favorite, Kyle Lowry has been absolutely abysmal for Philadelphia in his second season with the team. Outside of his secondary playmaking, he has become a net negative for the most part. To be frank, the odds of him just retiring are way higher than his odds of sticking with the 76ers after this season. Heck, he could soon end up being a buyout candidate.
