Jared McCain just cooked the 76ers without even playing against them

In front of the global audience, at that.

Remember when Daryl Morey said that the Philadelphia 76ers were simply selling high wehn they traded Jared McCain away to the Thunder shortly before the deadline? Well, if you think that still holds some water at this point, you are simply flat-out lying to yourself. The sophomore guard just turned in his breakout game in the playoffs, which is a pretty bad look for the front office.

In Game 3 of the heated Western Conference Finals affair between Oklahoma City and San Antonio, McCain turned in 24 big points in just 27 minutes, leading the way for a deep Thunder bench that outscored the Spurs' second unit by 53 points. Him alone outmatched the entire Spurs bench, which could only muster 23 markers as a collective. Now, the Thunder have regained full control of the series.

For the 76ers, this is just another brutal reminder that they made a horrible call with respect to McCain. After all, he seems to have completely gotten over his injury-related rust, and now, all Philly fans can do is air their grievances on that highly divisive opinion that will only age more badly as the years go by.

Jared McCain sticks it to the 76ers with a remarkable Game 3 performance for the Thunder

After winning Game 1, San Antonio was hellbent on making any other player than reigning Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander punish them. Unfortunately for the challengers, the defending champs have it all figured out –– and Jared McCain is a huge, huge reason why.

McCain did not play as much in their previous playoff series, but he has become a high-minute guy for OKC against the Spurs. He has been an absolute stud off the bench for the league's best team, and that is basically him laughing in the face of the 76ers.

After all, bench scoring was basically the downfall of Philadelphia in the playoffs. While they did manage to get out of the first round, the Knicks completely annihilated them in the semis by exploiting their lack of offensive presence in the second unit. McCain would have been a real game-changer for the 76ers in that regard, but threw all of that away.

Thankfully, the 76ers moved on from Daryl Morey. Trading Jared McCain was simply far too unacceptable, even before his breakout game in the playoffs. Now, this team remains shallow across the board, and even worse, they rid themselves of a young player who could have made their immediate future brighter.
