The 76ers acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Celtics will easily go down in history as one of the most unprecedented blockbuster trades the league has ever seen. As such, the already thick narrative engulfing both franchises in their rivalry will only get amplified from here on out. Heck, it appears that Philadelphia will see its newest star hop on his revenge tour earlier than expected following the latest preseason schedule release.
76ers will face the Celtics in the NBA preseason
Boston has released its preseason slate and will meet Philly twice before the regular season officially begins. Their first dust-up will be on the Celtics' turf at the TD Garden, while their second will be held at the 76ers' own Xfinity Mobile Arena. Assuming he appears in both outings, Brown should get two early cracks at his former ball club.

The league definitely cannot help but ride on the spicy narrative following the Brown trade that only amplifies this rivalry. Of course, everyone wants to see Brown play against the Celtics, especially given the way they treated him during the tail end of his tenure with the franchise.
The 76ers and Jaylen Brown will get two early cracks at the Celtics
As everyone knows, Boston openly offered Brown to Milwaukee to trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer, to no avail. Despite the former carrying them to a surprise finish in the most recent campaign without Jayson Tatum for almost the entire regular season, the Celtics were desperate to retool. For some reason, their Finals MVP from a couple of years ago was someone they were very willing to dispose of.
Obviously, there is now bad blood between both camps, which makes the 76ers-Celtics rivalry all the more riveting. That being said, the 76ers also benefit as a collective from getting to see the Celtics early. Of course, aside from being division rivals, Boston has been a perennial title contender for a decade now. They would want to see how their main nemesis looks after reshuffling this offseason.
The Celtics will be motivated to get some revenge on the 76ers for ousting them in the playoffs a few months ago, but Philly also has some extra firepower and additional drive to continue their win streak over Boston thanks to Jaylen Brown adding a spicy aspect to this historic rivalry.
