3 Biggest trends as the 76ers come up short in tight Summer League affair

Jared McCain’s shots are not falling with regularity just yet

McCain was touted as one of the top shooters entering the 2024 draft, but the results from this Summer League have not gone as expected. Personally, I preach patience. A lot of his attempts are either self-created or relocation shots off the move. 

Difficult shots to convert but quality attempts that he is generating. He is adjusting to the size and length of the league and he demonstrates the form and work ethic to ascend over the learning curve. 

In the meantime, he remains active on the boards, he hustles in transition, and demonstrates good defensive instincts to regularly jump passing lanes. He obviously has an astute awareness of the game. Check out this angle from his drop off pass to Bona for the finish.

It is important to demonstrate patience and trust as he improves his NBA shooting efficiency. But for the meantime, his all-around skill set has been pretty evident as the 76ers inch closer to the end of the Summer League.
