Breaking News: The Philadelphia 76ers are a better team with Joel Embiid on the court. While no one may be shocked to find that out, one might be surprised to find out just how mightily the Sixers have struggled in Embiid’s absence. Just a little over one month ago, Embiid scored a career-high 70 points en route to a win over the San Antonio Spurs. That win allowed the Sixers to improve to 29-13 on the season. Fast forward to today, the Sixers are 33-25 and just a 0.5 game up on the 7-seed. Seeds 7-10 will play in the Play-In tournament just to qualify for the NBA Playoffs.

It’s not all bad news though, the Sixers appear hopeful that Joel Embiid can return in time for the playoffs.

Should the Sixers get a healthy Joel Embiid back in the lineup in time for a playoff run, there is great reason to start trusting in this team’s capabilities once again. Without Joel Embiid’s 35 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists per game, Philadelphia has struggled. Outside of Tyrese Maxey who is averaging nearly 26 points per game this season, the Sixers have not found consistent scoring, and many players are struggling due to the sole fact that Joel Embiid is not on the floor. Embiid attracts so much attention that other players are able to flourish while playing alongside him.
