Justin Edwards regains his footing for Philly

Stats: 25 minutes, 14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers

It was a bounce back performance for Edwards. After going scoreless on two field goal attempts during his summer league debut, Edwards responded with 14 points while going 3/3 from beyond the arc.

He came out firing and a sense of urgency was present after his previous rough outing. His first points came off a mid-range pullup jumper in transition where his shooter's touch paid dividends. Shortly after, he was ready to catch and shoot from three. And divine intervention appeared to favor him tonight as he banked in another three from the corner.

The quick start was exactly what he needed, but his impact on the game faded the remainder of the first half. He got back into the swing of things to start the third relocating well to drill another three.

His last bucket of the night showcased his ball handling and penetrating ability. He combined multiple moves into an unorthodox finish.

Defensively, Edwards was engaged. He played with intensity and regularly pressured the ball handler. His aggressiveness was pleasing, but like Bona, a bit reckless. He fouled his opponents far from the basket multiple times and committed another foul while closing out to contest.

His effort and impact were felt tonight. Hopefully he builds on the momentum he established from this performance.
