4 Former 76ers the team could reunite with for the 2024-25 season

Reunions in the NBA have become more common than before. Here are four former 76ers who could get another go-round with the team for the 2024-25 season.

4. Andre Drummond

If you’re a frequent customer here, you probably might have already guessed that Andre Drummond would pop up here. After all, the former All-Star was already eyed by the 76ers this season, and he will enter free agency as one of the most desirable role players in the market, especially from the resurging center position.

Drummond’s brief stint in Philadelphia back in the 2021-22 season marked the first full year where he had to settle with a bench role, but despite an expected steep decline, the veteran bruiser managed to carve out a nice niche role for himself as an elite rebounder and adept finisher. This season, he registered 8.4 points and nine rebounds per outing — both mind-boggling numbers considering his meager 17.1 minutes of court time on the average.

It’s an imperative for the 76ers at this point to reinforce their cushion and fallbacks behind Joel Embiid, who’s always been injury-prone and is not getting any younger. While far from the offensive dynamo that the reigning MVP is, even on spurts, Drummond could at least give the team an imposing presence on the boards who can sap possessions on his own and finish them at a high efficiency.
